File saved by ZSNES, an SNES emulator for PCs; stores an emulated game save state that is stored in slot 9, the last of ten slots (slots 0-9); used to store a snapshot of game progress; can be saved and loaded at any point during a game.

NOTE: A ZSNES save state is not the same as an in-game save state. A game only allows players to save state when arriving at specific game milestones whereas ZSNES save states can be captured at any time during gameplay.
